Glasshaus: A note from Co-founders Lily and Tim

Glasshaus is a project that is years in the making. In many ways, it is the culmination of our growth process thus far; creatively, spiritually, etc., both as individuals and as a couple.  For us, Glasshaus is the place where everything that interests and delights us can live together, in harmony, under one roof!

Many of you may have come to know us from past visits to our other sites, BeadedLily.com and Tubularwiremeshribbon.com, which have been online now for several years.  If so, you will surely recognize many of the high quality jewelry-making products that we offer here on our new site, Glass-haus.org.

All of our beads and related products will still be sold under the Beaded Lily brand-name, and you can rest assured that you will receive the same high level of quality and service that you have come to expect from us.  But, that said, Glasshaus is not just the place where we sell our wares… It is also an expression of our desire to help to create the kind of world in which we want to live. A world where individuality and collective action are both celebrated. Where living in harmony with our planet and our neighbors is the standard. Where learning, teaching, creating and personal growth are seen by all to be worthy lifelong ambitions.

One thing that we both long for, (and it’s a familiar theme nowadays), is community. A community of Creatives and Thinkers. Those who want to experience not just the mundane existence of serving some “Master”, but rather who crave a lifetime spent  exploring and concentrating on what really matters in this life, and sharing that journey with others who are also seeking more meaning from their own individual life-experiences.

To that end, the Glasshaus experiment is born. A Real community. A Virtual community.  Physically, we’ve placed ourselves in the bustling Italian town of Camaiore in Western Tuscany.  The Apuan Alps soar above us, the Mediterranean sea just a few kilometers away. Florence is just over an hour away in one direction, as is Genoa in the other. The stunning art town of Pietrasanta is just a few minutes away (where Michelangelo purchased his marble) and a short drive to the beautiful towns of Lucca, Pisa, the famous marble quarries of Carrara… We’ve steeped ourselves in history and beauty, natural and man made, and we invite you ALL to visit, or even stay for a lifetime! You’d be hard-pressed to find a nicer spot anywhere on the planet.

But until you can join us in the physical world, we invite you to become part of our virtual community by joining Glasshaus as a SEEKER (it’s free).

Our goal here is to create an environment, both on and off-line, that supports and nourishes its members. Where what’s good for one is good for all. One example of where we intend to do this is by offering members a platform through which to sell their creations or teach their classes. Another example is the interactive interface on Glasshaus where members can share solution based, thought provoking content, rather than the same old incessant horror-banter spouted by most media outlets. Has a film, a book or video had a positive impact on your life? Share it with the community,  so that we can learn as you learn! Together, we are infinitely more capable and interesting!

Whether you are interested in creativity, spirituality, community building, trekking, exploring Tuscany & Liguria or all of the above this could be the community for you.  So, stay tuned in and help us grow…your ideas and suggestions are always welcome and encouraged.

The POWER of social media is what will make this project work. If what you’ve experienced here strikes a positive chord, please do 3 things: Join Glasshaus. Like this page on Facebook. Tell others.

Join us. Because communities don’t just happen…We have to create them 🙂

Peace.
