Offered as Private, one-on-one instruction or at a discounted group rate.

What does the course cover?

In my two/plus decades of owning and operating a bead shop, I have rarely come across a product as innovative, versatile, beautiful and fun to work with, as the Italian Tubular Wire Mesh Ribbon. I have found that once jewelry students start working with this product, they find it hard to stop!

The key to working with the ribbon is understanding the fundamentals of how it works and what it can do. Once a few simple techniques are mastered, the sky is, indeed, the limit.

In this class we will explore the basic fundamental techniques of working with this incredible product. These techniques include inserting a cord inside the ribbon, ruffling and sculpting the ribbon, sewing onto the ribbon and needle felting both on and with the ribbon itself.

I will perform a series of exercises demonstrating the different applications of how the ribbon can be used. Then, after viewing these demos, each student will pick a project to work on for the remainder of the class. Students will leave this class with one or more finished pieces incorporating the ribbon and the techniques learned in the class that day.
